Welcome to the Wooster Soccer Association Website

This is the official site for the Wooster Soccer Association.  

We are located in the Northeast Ohio region, serving Wayne and surrounding counties.  Our club's steady increase in participation constantly stretches the limits of our facilities at the Wooster Soccer Complex located at 100 Oldman Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691.   


Our Director of Coaching and Player development, Graham Ford, has implemented the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) curriculum at all age groups and levels of instruction.  This curriculum provides a consistent and goal-oriented framework that guides all training and instruction.  A more detailed description of the Wooster Soccer roadmap can be found here.  Do not hesitate to contact a board member or Coach Ford with any questions.

Friday Training Sessions

Kids experiencing mid-winter couch potato cabin fever? The Edge Indoor Skill Development Training conducted by WSA Director of Coaching Graham Ford continues this Friday and every Friday through March 11th.

This is free to all Edge Players and is aimed at improving a player's technical ability as well as agility and coordination.

Venue: High School Gault Center

6:00-6:45 p.m. 6/7/8 age groups
6:45-8:00 p.m. U9-U11 age groups
8:00-9:15 p.m. U12-14 age groups

No sign up is necessary please just bring a ball and wear shin pads.

9 Week Program

Venue High School Gault Center

6:00-6:45 p.m. 6/7/8 age groups
6:45-8:00 p.m. U9-U11 age groups
8:00-9:15 p.m. U12-14 age groups
 
No sign up is necessary please just bring a ball and wear shin pads.
 
2) Advanced Functional Training at Victory (see attached document)
 
Goal is to train players in both techniques and tactics "players will learn techniques to improve first touch, how to create space with and without the ball, and improved passing/defending/attacking/finishing skills’ 
 
Ages 8-10 Monday 5:00-6:30 p.m   Session 2 Jan 4, 11, 18, 25, Feb 1 Session 3 Feb 8, 15, 22, 29, March 7
Ages 11-13 Tuesday 5:00-6:30 p.m Session 2 Jan 5, 12, 19, 26, Feb 2 Session 3 Feb 9, 16, 23, March 1st, March 8
Ages 14-17 Thursday 5:00-6:30 p.m.Session 2       Jan 7, 14, 21, 28, Feb 4 Session 3 Feb 11, 18, 25, March 3, March 10
 
3) Winter Indoor Training & Small Sided Games at Victory (see attached document)
 
Saturdays 
9:00-10:30 a.m. 6/7/8 age groups
10:30-12:00 a.m. U9-U11 age groups
12:00-1:30 a.m. U12-14 age groups
 
These sessions are being organized by Wooster Soccer Association and Wooster Parks and Rec.
 
The format will be 45 mins of training led by WSA Director of Coaching Graham Ford and then 45 minutes of small sided games ( teams will be organized on the day)
 
This is a tremendous opportunity for experienced instruction as well as a FUN and ORGANIZED  environment to play and learn with the use of small sided games.
 

20 player maximum per age group  

Cost $ 65.00 per five week session  All checks made payable to: Wooster Soccer Association

Wooster Soccer Association provides teams for players of all skill and interest levels.

Whether you call it Select, Premier, Travel or Club – the Wooster Edge teams provide great competition and great training for the player that wants more competition and is willing to make a bigger commitment to soccer.  Wooster Edge teams through its affiliation with Wooster Parks and Recreation, fundraising and private sponsorship is able to provide a high level of training at an affordable cost.

WSA and Wooster Parks and Recreation Department organize Wooster teams and the Saturday recreational league.  Teams from Chippewa, Cloverleaf, Hiland, Hillsdale, Holmes County, Northwestern, Norwayne, Orrville, Smithville, Rittman, Triway, and Waynedale all participate in this league.  Other opportunities are also provided.  Details are available in the Wooster Recreational Department brochure.  The brochure is available at the Wooster Community Center, 241 S.
